Jerry F. Bergeon, 72, of Greenwood, SC, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 in his residence.

He was born on March 10, 1942 to George  and Unita (Peppers) Bergeon in Defiance, OH.  Jerry worked as a Laborer for DMP.  He also served in the US Air Force from 1961-1966.

He was a member of Amvets Post 1991, and a former member of FOE 321 Eagles..

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Melanie (Jason) Hinkle of Sherwood, OH, sons, Chad Bergeon of Defiance, OH, Christopher Bergeon of Brooklyn Center, MN, Phillip Bergeon of Brooklyn Center, MN, 7 Grandchildren, 1 Great Granddaughter, brothers, Jan Bergeon of Defiance, OH, Gene  Bergeon of Sarasota, FL, sister, Joanne Amunson of Dyersville, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Brian Bergeon, and a brother, Jack Bergeon.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014, 11:00 am at the Schaffer Funeral  Home, Defiance, Ohio, with Rev. Josh Schmidt, officiating.

Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.
