Jeffery Allen Barnwell, 44, Cecil, Ohio, entered the gates of Heaven on July 29, 2012, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
He was born on June 1, 1968, in Defiance, the son of Terri Lynn Flory (Podgorski) and James Arthur Barnwell. On October 12, 1992, he married Java Lee Black, who survives. He attended Fairview School and graduated from Defiance High School in 1985. He worked at Dutch Housing, Indiana; Redman Homes, Indiana; Fleetwood, Indiana; Mansion Mobile Home, Ohio; and Blackie's Construction and was constantly roofing houses.
Surviving are his wife, Java Lee Barnwell, Cecil; three sons, James Miller (Misty) of Edgerton, Jacy Barnwell and Josiah Barnwell, Cecil; his mother, Terri Lynn Flory (Podgorski), Defiance; his great-grandmother, Patricia Goldfuss, Defiance; three sisters, Tamara Sitton (Gordon) of Cecil, Tena Sanders (Kenneth) of Oregon and Arthur Wehagen (Debra), Arkansas; one grandson, Zaidin Miller; two nieces, Kayla Sanders and Brittlynn Sitton; and two nephews, Josh and Jeremy Sanders.
Jeff was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a very hard-working man. There was no roof that he could not roof. There was no job that he could not do!!! Jeff had hard-working hands that did many projects. His hard work will be remembered when looking at the siding, roof, flooring, even the complete buildings that he put his great effort and time into. He was a man with many talents that will be greatly missed and definitely remembered.
Preceding him in death was his father, James Arthur Barnwell.
There will be a memorial service on Friday, August 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the First Assembly of God, 1757 S. Clinton Defiance, Ohio, with Pastor Larry Grow officiating. Handling arrangements is Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be given for funeral expenses.
