Jeannine "Gert"  Wagner, 87, of Defiance, passed away on  February 4, 2017 at the Glen Park of Defiance.

She was born on January 25, 1930 to Russel and Helen ( Rath) Murphy in Defiance, OH. Jeannine worked as a Volunteer for Defiance Hospital Auxiliary. On November 1, 1947 she married Howard "Ike" Wagner who preceded her in death on July 6, 1999.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, enjoyed cooking and spending time with family.

Jeannine is survived by her daughter, Ginna (Steve) Waxler of Defiance, Ohio, daughter in law, Becky Wagner, of the Villages of Florida,  4 grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.  husband, Howard "Ike" Wagner, son, Dennis Wagner, brother, Dwight Murphy, granddaughter, Kelly Wagner, grandson, Chad Wagner.

Visitation will be held  at the Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 9-11 am

Funeral services will be held on February 7, 2017  at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald L. Luhring officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.
