Jean A. Wiseman, 80, of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.

She was born on January 12, 1936 to Elwsorth and Helen (Partee) Florence in Defiance, Ohio. In 1954 she married Lavon Wiseman, who resides in Defiance.

Jean attended Free Christian Church of God in Continental, Ohio. She had many hobbies, which included antiques, collecting, gardening, flowers, cooking and baking. Jean loved spending time with her family.

Jean will be greatly missed by her loving spouse of  62 years, Lavon Wiseman of Defiance,  son, Pete (Mike Kositzke) Wiseman of Columbus, daughters, Nancy (Martin) Miller of Defiance, and Rita Wiseman of Columbus, grandchildren; Emily (Preston) Zachrich, Jake Miller, Simon Miller, and Marcy Miller, great-granddaughter, Delilah Zachrich, goddaughter, Paula (Rick) Bolman of Defiance, sisters, Mary, Rita, and Janet, and brothers, Don, Bobby, Kenny, and Roger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Elsworth Florence.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Free Christian Church of God in Continental, Ohio, with Pastor James Fry officiating. Burial will follow at Myers Cemetery.
