Jason  Richard Mehring, age 47, of Defiance, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at St.Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Jason was born on June 25, 1978 to Ronald and Jeanette (Shaffer) Mehring in Defiance, Ohio. Jason graduated high school in 1996. Jason loved his family and sports. His greatest joys were spending time at family parties, holidays, watching his nieces and nephews play sports and attending MLB and NFL games. He enjoyed time out on the golf course, playing pool and cards and going to the casino with family and friends. He was one of the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers biggest fans. He shared the love of these teams over the years with his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews and friends by attending numerous games at Comerica Park and Ford Field. It would not be uncommon for him to call you up and say I have tickets for this game or let's get tickets for Sunday and go. He is predeceased by both sets of grandparents (Mehring and Shaffer), his loving father, Ronald R. Mehring and his niece Blake R. Mehring. He is survived by his loving mother, Jeanette H. Mehring and his siblings, Joseph Mehring, Jeffrey (Patty) Mehring and Rhonda (John) Amspaugh. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Brooke (Seth), Hannah (Dylan), Nicholas (Lila), Caroline, Londyn, Paityn, Paisley, Hudson and Harlyn.
