Janice Kay Thompson, 62, of Defiance, passed away on  Saturday, July 13, 2013 from results of an auto accident in Defiance Co.

She was born on March 15, 1951 to  Edwin Melvin & Mildred Lucille (Sickmiller) Franz in Henry Co. OH.

Janice was a 1969 Napoleon High School graduate. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.  Janice worked at the Kingsbury House and for JC Penny over 9 years.  She managed the Disciple House where she participated in Bible study groups and assisted with other activities. Janice was "Starbright" the clown.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her son, Todd Alan (Kelly) Thompson of Archbold, daughters, Tamara Sue Thompson of Somerset, KY, Tara Lynn Thompson of Defiance, grandson, Mason Gurzynski, granddaughter, Adriana Thompson, sister, Judith Ann (Jerry) Pierce of Napoleon, brothers, Dennis (Coleen) Franz of Holgate, Ronald (Deb) Franz of Pettisville, Richard (Bonnie) Franz of Napoleon and ex-husband, Tommy Lee Thompson of Archbold.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Max Begley officiating.  Burial will follow in Hoy Cemetery.
