Janet S. Szabo Janet S. Szabo, 51, of Defiance, passed away Wednesday, May 6th, 2015 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born in Bryan, Ohio on October 10, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Ronald Nash and Joann (Perry) Prough who survives her of Defiance. Janet married Gary Szabo in 2000 and he survives. She had worked at Alex Products and the Phillips Co. in Ottawa. She attended Ayersville schools and was a member of the Defiance Moose Lodge # 2094. She enjoyed camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking and playing cards. She had a real love for animals. Janet owned several dogs and cats and helped care for many others. She also helped at the animal shelter. Janet will be missed by her husband Gary, mother Joanne (Rob) Prough, daughters: Heather (Matt) Dumire of Defiance, Chelsey Szabo of Defiance sisters: Stacy Burgiel of Michigan, Tonya Nash of Michigan and granddaughter Rylee Dumire. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Timothy Nash, Ronald Nash Jr. and her father Ronald Nash Sr. Services will be at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9th, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating.
