Janet K. Fischer, age 80 of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on January 7, 1939 to Ellsworth and Helen (Partee) Florence in Defiance. On March 31, 1966 she married William Fischer, who preceded her in death on April 30, 2015.

Janet was a member of  Bethel Christian Church in Defiance. She worked as a cashier for Kroger Company for several years until her retirement. Janet enjoyed antiques, and spending time with her family. Janet will be sadly missed by her two sons, Stephen Fischer, and Eric (Megan) Fischer, all of Defiance, four brothers, Don Florence, Roger (Fran) Florence, Kenny (Bernice) Florence, and Bob (Betty) Florence, two sisters, Rita (Paul) Karnes, and Mary (Arnold) Mandrick, and her beloved granddogs, Tucker, Zoey, and Pepper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Fischer, brothers, Lavon Florence and Larry Florence, and three sisters, Norma Miller, Dolores Robarge, and Jean Wiseman. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Cemetery. Schaffer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
