James T. Singer, 43, of Defiance passed away suddenly on Friday April 24, 2015 at his home.
He was born on August 26, 1971 in Defiance to James A. and Carol R. (Wallace) Singer. On October 27, 2001 he married Vonnie Eash.
James was a 1990 Graduate of Stryker High School and had earned his Associates Degree in Architecture. He served in the U.S. Navy for five years as a Sea Bee having been stationed at The Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland for three years and in Iceland for two years. While in the Navy James ran three marathons, two Marine Corps. Marathons in Washington D.C. and one in Iceland.
He was an owner and operator of a dump truck for San Jan, Ridgeville and a semi owner /operator for ClemensTrucking, Defiance. He also drove for Metal Management, Defiance.
James is survived by his loving wife Vonnie Singer of Defiance, son Devin Singer at home, mother Carol R. Singer of Stryker, sister Cindy Singer (fiancee Galen Pattison) of Hicksville, and nephew Justin Singer of Hicksville.
He was preceded in death by his father James A. Singer and his grandparents.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 27, 2015 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home,Defiance, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:00 am with Deacon John Spengler officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance where military graveside honors will be conducted by the Defiance V.F.W. Post #3360.
