Obituary

James L. Kleinhenn, 79, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 in Defiance. He was born on March 27, 1945 to Harry and Hazel (Doan) Kleinhenn in Hobbs, New Mexico. James was a 1963 graduate of Defiance High School. He worked as a Truck Driver for Morgan Truck Company for over 30 years until his retirement, and then delivered mail for the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed antiquing and was a collector and dealer. He loved going to local flea markets and the Route 127 garage sales. James is survived by his brother, Thomas L. Kleinhenn of Defiance, sisters, Becky Snyder of Napoleon, OH, and Susan Deany of Deshler, OH, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hazel Kleinhenn, and his sister, Connie Wolfrum. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3rd at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. An additional hour of visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am before the service. James will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
