Obituary

James "Jim" D. Heusi, 66, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the CHP Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center.  He was born on Januay 25, 1949 to the late Oscar and Enerstine (Penrod) Heusi in Defiance, OH. Jim graduated from Defiance High School in 1967, where he was a member of the band and choir.  He also was a member of the Quartertones, and attended Bowling Green State University.  On May15, 1976, he married Jane Liska, who survives. From his first job at Jigg's Rootbeer Stand, then selling stereos at Sound Associates in Bowling Green, to his 40 years at GM, he was a very hard worker.  In his younger years, Jim enjoyed tinkering on his cars, and riding his motorcycle.  He also enjoyed listening to his stereo, watching his movies and tennis in his "man cave" that he designed and finished himself.  He loved working in his vegetable garden and his lawn, and considered his home his "Haven in the Woods". Jim leaves behind his loving wife and friend of 38 years, Jane (Liska) Heusi, his two beautiful and talented daughters, Maia (Erik) Carlson (a gemologist & designer), and Dr. Jenna Heusi (a Vetenarian) and her dog, Cali.  Both daughters reside in California.  Also surviving include his brother, Joe Heusi, and nephew Michael, both of Houston TX, several In-laws, Linda & John Wolf, Charlene & Jerry Liska and families, and Lee Liska. Jim will be greatly missed by his wife, daughters, and his group of lifelong friends.  A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. A special "Thank you" to all the wonderful ladies who cared for Jim during his stay at the Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center. Memorial donations may be made to the Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center.
