James R. Greenler Sr. age 73 went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2016 at his residence. He was born on November 7, 1942 in McComb, Ohio to Lawrence and Irene (Fox) Greenler. On June 10, 1961 he was united in marriage to Roberta R (Grimes) and they were married for 53 years. She preceded him in death. On September 18, 2015 he married Phyllis (Kunsman) Greenler who survives. James lived and worked all of his life in Defiance County, retiring from General Motors as a Millwright on January 1, 2007 after 42 years of dedicated service. He especially enjoyed working and using his hands, usually for the purpose of helping others. He very much enjoyed working on the farm but more than anything he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Bryan Eagles, The National Rifle Association and St. John Lutheran Church of Defiance. In addition to being survived by his wife Phyllis he is also survived by Sons, James (Jennifer) Greenler of Fremont, Indiana and Jeffrey (Victoria) Greenler - Bryan, Ohio Daughters Tammie (Kenneth) Meroney of Iron Station, North Carolina and a step-daughter Cheryl Anderson - Bryan, Ohio Brothers Larry Greenler of Defiance and Rev. Michael Greenler of Bucyrus, Ohio Sisters Kathleen Engel of Defiance and Cindy Lindsay of Cheyenne, Wyoming Grandchildren: -Natasha Greenler - Ryan Greenler - Morgan Daniels - Wade Meroney -Brittany Greenler -Mykenzie Greenler Two Great-Grandchildren: - Gabriella Stotts - Gavin Stotts Visitation for James will be Monday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 9:00 at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home and at the Church one hour prior to the service. Funeral services for James will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday August 2, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, Ohio Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens.
