James H. "Jesse" Fleming, 59, of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on August 28, 1955 to Irwin and Opal (Cable) Fleming in Clintwood, Virginia. James loved building things and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his dog, Lizzy.

James is survived by his father, Irwin Fleming of Clintwood, Virginia, Significant Other, Violet Fleming of Defiance, daughter, Krystyn (Phil Coppes) Fleming of Defiance, son, Mark Fleming of Defiance, grandson, Quin Fleming, brothers, Phillip (Kitty) Fleming of Winchester, Virginia, Donnie (Mary) Fleming of Texas, Teddy (Mary Ann) Fleming of Ney, Ralph (Lydia) Fleming of Defiance, Raymond Fleming of Cecil, sisters, Irene (Earl) France of Clintwood, Virginia, Joyce Nelson of Cecil, Fern (Bud) Farmer of Piketon, Ohio, Rosa (Pete) Whitt of Clintwood, Virginia, Patty (Eddie) Benson of Piketon, Ohio and Lovetta (Freddie) Mullins of Clintwood, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Fleming, and brother, Shelton Fleming.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Monday, April 20, 2015, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Burnell Hammons, officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.
