James E. "Ed" Brown, age 86 of Defiance, passed away at his residence on Monday morning, April 25, 2022 with his wife by his side. He was born on September 11, 1935 to Harry and Rosa (Warren) Brown at Defiance, Ohio. Ed proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. In 1958 he married Beverly (Carlin) Brown, who survives. Ed was a member of First Assembly of God. He worked at John's Manville from 1953 until his retirement in 1999. He loved animals, old cars, and nature. Ed had a heart of gold and always helped others in need. Ed will be sadly missed by his loving wife Beverly Brown of Defiance, his brother, Harry (Frances) Brown, Jr. of Defiance, and his sister, Pearl Presley of Angola, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Everitt, Harrison and Wesley Brown, and his sisters, Irene Brown and Marie Grunden. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Scott Williams and Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. The family will have a private burial. Memorials are suggested to Ft.
