Obituary

James "Bud" L Mock, 72, of Defiance, passed away on  Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Promedica Defiance Regional Hospital.

He was born on October 7, 1941 to James and Edna (Balliett) Mock in Van Wert, OH.

On December 23, 1961 he married Nancy (Fockler) Mock.

Bud was a Millwright for GM Powertrain 36 years retiring in 1997.   He was a US Army veteran and a member of  Defiance VFW Post #3360  and the Defiance County Fish & Game.  Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the lake.  He was an avid Nascar/Dale Ernhardt fan and liked the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy, sons, Mark (Loretta) Mock of Ney, Steven (Christina) Mock of Paulding, Jeff (Deb) Mock of Ayersville, daughter, Theresa Thiel of Defiance, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, brother, Richard (Betty) Mock of Ney, and a sister, Joyce of Bryan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Schaffer Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Sam Mock officiating.

Burial with military honors provided by the VFW Post #3360 will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
