James P. Brewer, 61, of Defiance, passed away on  Monday,December 26, 2022 at the Ebein Hospice Center in Sylvania, Ohio with his daughters by his side. He was born on August 23, 1961 to Noel and Carol (McKinley) Brewer in Connersville, Indiana.  On October 4, 1985 he married Kimberly Brewer who preceded him in death on July 22, 2005. Jim served his country in the US Army as an MP.  He earned his Associate degree and made his living as a truck driver.  In his spare time he enjoyed reading, listening to music and movies.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Jim is survived by his children, Taryn Moore of Arcanum, Ohio, Tara (Sherri) Akers of Marion, Ohio, Dawson Brewer of Defiance and his ten grandchildren.    Also surviving are his brothers, Matt Brewer, Dan (Angie) Brewer and sister, Jennifer Cain all of Richmond, Indiana along with several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Kimberly Brewer. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio. with funeral service following at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Celebrant Deb Miller, officiating.  Burial will be private.
