Obituary

James M. Angermeier James (Jim) M. Angermeier, 66, of Defiance, passed away at 9:15 P:M, Monday, February 28th, 2011 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center after a lengthy battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was born in Defiance County on November 20, 1944, he was the son of the late Clement and Frances (Schwartzfischer) Angermeier. He was a lifetime member of St. John Catholic Church. Jim served in the Army Reserve from 1964 to 1970. He was employed as the Ohio Art Company in Bryan for for 43 years retiring in 2005 as the supervisor of the maintenance department. Jim was also a lifelong farmer and a member of the AM Vets. He was a 1962 graduate of Stryker High School. He enjoyed the outdoors, farming, helping and giving a hand to people. Surviving are a sister: Freda Stritt of Defiance and a brother: John Angermeier of Defiance. Preceded in death by a brother Joseph who died in 1963 and his parents. His father Clement died in 1986 and his mother Frances died in 1994. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 4th, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Friends are invited to call Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance, Ohio. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery where VFW Post #3360 will conduct honorary military graveside rites. Suggested memorials are to the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice at 6825 Rt. 66 N Defiance, Ohio 43512, the American Cancer Society at 740 Commerce Dr. Suite B Perrysburg, Oh. 43551 or the Donor's Choice.
