Jack Martin Limber, 82, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday,November 23, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on September 27, 1932 to John and Nellie (Mansfield) Limber of Defiance, Ohio. On June 29, 1952 he married Wilma (Peck) Limber.
Jack was a member of Ayersville United Methodist Church. He was a charter member of Highland Township Volunteer Fire Department, and an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked at Dinner Bell Foods for many years. Jack was a soft spoken man, who enjoyed mowing his lawn, tinkering, and helping his family.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Wilma Limber of Ayersville, sons, Jerry (Chris) Limber, Tom Limber, and Dan (Kim) Limber, all of Ayersville, and Jim (Wendy) Limber of Stuart, Florida, daughters, Vicki Lamerson, and Julie (Pat) Limbacher of Ayersville. A sister, Betty Davis of Defiance, brother-in-law, Clinton "Bud" Throne of Evansport, a sister-in-law, Mildred Limber of Ayersville, 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Limber, brothers, George Limber, Clyde (Dick) Limber, and John Limber (who died in infancy), a sister, Doris Throne, and brother-in-law, Harold Davis.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, and one hour prior to services at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating. There will be a luncheon to follow at Ayersville United Methodist Church.
Burial will take place in the Ayersville Cemetery, with Military Graveside Honors by VFW Post 3360.
