Jack L.  Fulton, 80 of Defiance, passed away Saturday morning,  December 8, 2012 in the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born September 4, 1932 in Delphos, Ohio and was the son of Carl and Hazel (Fair) Fulton.

Jack is survived by his wife of 51 years Sharon (Chandler) Fulton whom he married on May 20, 1961.  He is also survived by two daughters, Cheryl Leksan of Cincinnati and Leigh Anne (Tomas) Hood of Omaha, Nebraska; and 5 Grandchildren; Nicholas, Erika & Greg Leksan, Ashley and Robert Brown.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers William and Robert Fulton.

Jack graduated in 1950 from Delphos-Jefferson high school and joined the U.S. Air Force and served from 1952-1956 . In 1959 he went into the State Highway Patrol academy. He was part of the 54th graduating class. Jack worked in the patrol for 26 years and retired as a sergeant in 1983. In addition, he worked at H & R Block for twenty years  His memberships included the American Legion, Defiance and the Riverside Greens Golf course, Stryker. Jack was an active member of the Ayersville United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. He liked playing cards and was an avid golfer. But most of all, he adored his grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Friday, December 14, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm in the Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance and one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:00am in the Ayersville United Methodist Church with Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.

In lieu of flowers, we would like contributions to the American Cancer Society, Ayersville United Methodist Church or Community Health Professionals Hospice of Defiance.
