Ione R. Jones Ione R. Jones, 88, of Defiance, died Friday, October 23rd, 2009 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance. She was born in Ottoville, OH on October 3, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Alfons and Nora (Brandehoff) Schulien. She married Ken "Cos" Jones Dec. 27, 1958 and he survives. She was the Deputy Clerk of Courts for 12 years and had also worked 4 years at the Soil Conservation office. Ione enjoyed playing cards and video poker. Besides her husband surviving are 3 sons: John (Donna) Smart of California, Michael Smart of Defiance and David "Daisy" (Brenda) Smart of Defiance. Ione is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a grandchild. Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 A:M. October 27th, at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Visitation is Monday from 2-8. Burial will be in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Suggested memorials are to the Donor's Choice.
