Ingrid Antoine, age 89 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance, Ohio. She was born on July 21, 1932 to the late Adele Thompson in Fellin, Estonia. In 1953 she married Robert P. Antoine, who preceded her in death on January 1, 2007.

Ingrid was a faithful  member of St. John Lutheran Church, and a life member of VFW #3360. She enjoyed planting flowers, gardening and cooking. Ingrid was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ingrid is survived by her children; Randy Antoine, RoxAnn Nester, and Robin Casper, all of Defiance, her grandchildren; RJ Antoine, Chrissy Nolan, Dustyn Antoine, Beth Joyce, John Clellan III, Nick Antoine, Caleb Antoine, Isaac Shepard, Lindsay Pelland, and Crystal Casper, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several cousins in Germany, and her daughter-in-law, Sue Antoine.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Antoine, Jr., son-in-law, Ed Nester, and daughter-in-law, Angela Antoine. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street). A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home, with Celebrant Sean Sharp officiating. Due to CDC guidelines, if you are not fully vaccinated a mask is required to enter the funeral home, and our lounge area will remain closed. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
