Imogene L. Wisda Imogene Louise Wisda, age 83, died Wednesday, July 4th, 2012 at Twin Rivers Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Defiance, on July 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Vivian H. (Robertson) Rauth. Imogene married Richard A, Wisda on Nov. 20, 1948 at St. John's Catholic Church in Defiance. They had nine children who survive: Christine (Christian) Stuckey of Ney, Regina (Thomas) Koch of Antwerp, Charles Wisda of Archbold, Julie (Ken) Godfrey of Evansport, Sally (Thomas) Warner of Fayetteville, N.C. , Donald Wisda of Newalla, Oklahoma, Marie (Frank) Marvin of Oakwood, Phillip Wisda, and Susan Crawford of Ridgeville Corners. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was a member of St. Michael's Ridge Catholic Church. A member of their Altar & Rosary Society where she held various offices in the past. She loved to read, sew and paint. She donated several of her paintings for benefits of various types. She loved the history of the Southern plantations and was thrilled to tour these homes on a trip to the South. In the 1960's she took a mail order course to repair dolls. She opened a doll hospital at her home at St. Michael's Ridge. She also made many period doll cloths and had a large doll collection. She worked at the Val-U dress shop in Defiance while in high school and after graduation. She had also worked at Pixler's Mens Wear in Defiance. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Wisda on August 1, 2002, by her parents Vivian and John Rauth, a stepmother Ethyl Rauth, and a sister Vivian Rauth who died in infancy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Visitation is 2-8 Monday at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Visitation will also be from 10 a.m. -11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Suggested memorials are for masses, to Twin Rivers Care Center Activities Dept., or CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.
