Ila M. King, 87, of Defiance, passed away onWednesday evening, May 15, 2019 at Kingsbury Place in Defiance. She was born on July 17, 1931 to Guy and Orpha (Summerland) Johnston in North Creek, Ohio. In 1949 she married Frederick G. King, who preceded her in death in 2007. Ila attended Free Christian Church in Continental, and Church of the Nazarene in Defiance. She enjoyed music and housekeeping. Spending time with her family was always her priority. Ila will be sadly missed by her two sons, Tom (Diana) King of Defiance, and Scott King of Stanford, IL, two daughters, Sharon Neuhauser of Bradenton, FL, and Amy Finnegan of Defiance,  six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Orpha Johnston, husband, Frederick G. King, brothers, Harlo Johnston, and Lloyd Johnston, and sisters, Hazel Johnston, and Doris Brecht. Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, May 20th at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Pastor Carol Retcher officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
