Ike Taylor, 86, of Defiance, died on Saturday morning at the Defiance CHP.  He was born in Pineville, KY to Charles Taylor and Eura Tennyson on April 9, 1931.  On September 21, 1952 he married Eva B. Whitaker who preceded him in death on February 26, 2009.

Survivors include sons Gary (Kathy Handy) Taylor, Defiance, and Michael Taylor of Dothan, AL.  5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great- great grandchildren. Half-brothers, Ralph and Kenneth Tennyson, and Charles, Jim, Clarence, and Johnny Taylor, a half-sister, Jeannette Jones.  Proceeding him in death were his parents and his step mother Florence Taylor, his wife, and  half-brothers, Ed Rush, and Ray Tennyson, and half sisters, Mary Tennyson, Kathleen, Hazel Baker, and Dora Ruth Lester.

Mr. Taylor was a 1991 retiree from the GM Foundry in Defiance and its UAW 211, He enjoyed working in his garage on cars, being outdoors, in his yard and spending time with his family and spoiling the neighbor kids Brooke & Brock.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance with Rev, Max Begley officiating at 11:00 am.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 4-8 pm and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.  Burial will follow at the Riverview Memory Gardens.  Memorials are directed towards the Defiance CHP, Brookview Nursing Home, or to Kingsbury House.  Condolences may be sent to www.schafferfh.com.
