Ida Marie Hageman, 82, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

She was born on February 14, 1931 to Henry and Ruth (Donley) Spangler in Defiance. On March 14, 1948 Marie married Melvin "Red" Hageman and he passed away on December 5, 2002.

She was a member of the Defiance Eagles, Amvets, VFW, Moose and Elks Auxiliaries. Marie worked for Defiance Milk Products and the Defiance Eagles and enjoyed watching football and NASCAR.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Mary (Allen) Potter, of Defiance, sons, Marvin (Deborah) Hageman of Defiance, Melvin (Tina) Hageman of Defiance, Mark (Cricket) Hageman of Defiance, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Joe Potter and brothers, Lester, Ernie, Bob & Glenn Spangler.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Schaffer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013, at the funeral home with Father John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens.

The family suggest memorials be made to Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.
