Howard M. "Junior" Neff  Jr., age 79 of Defiance, passed away on  Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance. He was born on May 13, 1943 to the late Howard and Loretta (Wisda) Neff in Defiance, Ohio. On April 8, 1967 he married Sharon Schwab, who survives. Junior was a faithful member of St. John Catholic Church in Defiance, UAW #211 and K of C #1039. He worked for over 35 years in the Maintenance Department at General Motors until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, painting, camping, and playing on his computer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He adored his best friend and support dog "Muffin". Junior and Sharon enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and going on cruises, especially to Alaska. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Junior will be sadly missed by his loving wife of  57 years, Sharon Neff of Defiance, and his children; Shellie (Chris) Dales, Lisa Cape, William (Amy) Neff, all of Defiance, and Patty (Matt) Lefeld of St. Henry, Ohio, his grandchildren; Dauson, Kryshel, and Hayden Dales, Brenna, Chance, and Reece Cape, Sara, Ryan and Jared Neff, Tate, Quinn and Darby Lefeld, and his sister, Gloria Neff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Allison, his sister, Marilyn Tanner, and brothers, William Neff and Kenneth Neff Sr. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton St.) in Defiance. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church, with Fr. Jason D'Souza officiating.
