Hildegard "Hilda" C. Miller, 98, of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance.

She was born on November 12, 1915 to Bernard "Barney" and Mary ((Sager)) Erhart in Greensburg, OH.  She married Edwin H. Miller in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Hilda was a member of  St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Freda Keys of Defiance, OH, Shirley (Paul) Schroeder of Defiance, OH, Judy (Delmar) Brown of Sherwood, OH, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edwin, sisters, Teresa Ann Miller, Helen Perrin, Emma Johnston, infant brother, Bernard, Jr., one great granddaughter, Shannon Clausen.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 A.m.Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.  A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Randy Giesige officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
