Hilario J. Castillo  Jr., 62, of Defiance, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born on November 6, 1955 to Hilario Castillo, Sr.and Margaret Kohli in Defiance. On August 20, 1977 he married Cecilia "Cecil" Sanchez who preceded him in death on November 28, 2014. Hilario worked for several years at General Motors, was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns, and he also enjoyed making tortillas with his granddaughter Lucia. Hilario is survived by his daughter, Michelle Castillo of Defiance, son, Hilario "Jay" (Crystal) Castillo of Fort Wayne, granddaughter, Lucia Roma Valle of Defiance, sister, Amelia (Rick) Whittington of Cross Lane, WV, and brothers, Ignacio Castillo and Rick Castillo, both of Defiance.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia R Castillo. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 2:00 until 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 2:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 15th at St. John's Catholic Church, with Father Randy Giesgie. Burial will follow the services at Riverside Cemetery.
