Henrietta M. Kroeckel Henrietta M. Kroeckel, 96, of Defiance, passed away Monday, December 29th, 2014 at Hillside County Living in Bryan, Ohio. She was born in Defiance, Ohio on February 1, 1918, she was the daughter of the late C.E. and Margaret (Delarber) Masterson. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance, a life member of the Defiance Hospital Auxiliary, Defiance Society of Artists, St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society, the Church Noodle club, several bridge clubs, former Member Business and Professional Women and a volunteer at the Defiance Red Cross blood drives. She was the widow of Paul J. Kroeckel who died Dec. 13, 1986 and Paul V. Gackel who died 12/01/1971. Henrietta retired in 1980 as assistant secretary at First Federal Savings and Loan. She will be missed by her son; Paul V. (Pat) Gackel, Jr. of Bryan, Ohio She is also survived by 2 grandchildren; JoAnna (Brian) Van Otterloo and Gina (Corey) Cassidy and a great granddaughter Zoey Van Otterloo. Preceded in death by brothers: Richard Masterson, Gene Masterson, C. A. Masterson, a sister Gorgina Wanley. A stepson Ronald Kroeckel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Defiance, with Father Charles Ritter officiating. Visitation is 2-4 & 6-8 Friday, January 2, at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens.
