Helen R Zipfel Steinbrener, 91, of Defiance, passed away on  Sunday December 30, 2012 at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

Helen married Wilber C Steinbrener on September 30, 1944 and he preceeded  her in death on June 27, 2005.

She was born on January 4, 1921 to Charles and Martha (Kolb) Zipfel in Defiance Co.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Janice (Gilbert) Normandin of Trenton, MI,  Joyce (Carl) Westhoven of Defiance, Jill (John) Mack of Defiance,  Joan (Karl) Sill of Sylvania, 8 grandchildren; Aaron Normandin, Adam  Normandin, Eric (Amanda) Westhoven, Sara (Marty) Schindler, Rachel Mack, Zachary Mack, Elaina Mack, Hanna Sill and 7 great grandchildren.

Also preceding her were her parents,  sisters; Lucille Hiler, Edith Ehlinger and  Marie Wolff and brothers; Robert and Roger Zipfel.

Helen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society and St. Mary's prayer chain..

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 02, 2013 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Rosary service at 7:30pm. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass at the church starting at 10:00am

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Defiance with Father Randy Giesige officiating.

Burial will take place in Riverview Memory Gardens.

Memorials will be given towards masses in celebration of her memory.
