Helen E. Zimmerman, 97, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center of Defiance, Ohio. She was born on November 11, 1917 to George and Irene Troutman in Brookville, Ohio. In 1935 she married Robert E. Zimmerman, who proceeded her in death in 2011. Helen assisted her husband with the family owned jewelry store in Defiance, Zimmerman's Jewelry Store. She enjoyed playing bridge. Helen is survived by her daughter, Judy Heid of Columbus, Ohio, grandchildren; Jennifer (Joe) Eureste, Laura (Kemp) Stapleton, Jeffrey Brenner, Todd (Mary) Albert, Lisa (Rob) Morgan, Mary Beth Albert, Christine (Adin) Sadic, great-grandchildren; Jason (Heather) May, Betsy (Matt) Baringer, Erine Stapleton, Eric Stapleton, Jeffrey Brenner, Jessica Brenner, Olivia Albert, Zachary Albert, Brynn Morgan, Maya Sadic, great-great-grandchildren; Adaria May, Claire Baringer, and sister, Katherine Heck of Brookville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Irene Troutman, husband, Robert Zimmerman, and daughter, Jean Brenner. Visitation will be held  from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Jason May, officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
