Helen M. Toth, 78, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on  November 1, 2014 at her home.

She was born on April 2, 1936 to Joseph and Veronica (Busz) Kurucz in Middlesburg, PA. She attended school at Clearview High School and graduated in 1954.On April 28, 1957 she married James Richard Toth. Helen and James lived in Defiance, Ohio.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Defiance, Ohio for 54 years. She also participated in the Altar Society and the Rosary Society, volunteered for the Defiance Hospital Auxillary, and the Red Cross.

Helen is survived by her loving daughters, Andrea S. (David) Polan of Victoria, MN, & Sister Michele Ed.D. of Fort Wayne, IN, grandchildren, Danielle (Chris) Szempruch of Dayton, OH, & Jamie E. Polan of Cincinnati, OH, and a great grandson, Andrew Szempruch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, James Richard Toth in 1992.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio, and one hour prior to the services, at church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, 11:00 am at the St Mary Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio, with Father Randy Giesige, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.
