Obituary

Helen G. Kohn, 82, of Defiance, passed away on August 19th, 2012 at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born on August 10, 1930 to George and Mabel (Like) Sager in Holgate, OH. She attended school at Hamler High School for 12 years.

She attended both St John's Catholic Church, and St Mary's Catholic Church. Helen owned the Dairy Bar in Hamler and then worked at Rink's Bargain City for several years. She then got the entrepreneurial itch, and started the Sugar Shack in Defiance. She also worked at Quality Farm   Fleet until she retired. Helen enjoyed sitting on the back porch talking to family   friends, cooking, and working in the garden with her flowers. Her family was her life, and her grandchildren kept her connected. There was nothing that made her happier than to hear what is going on in their lives. She will be greatly missed.

Helen is survived by daughter, Patty Schwiebert of Defiance, Ohio, son, Scott (Pam) Schwiebert of Holgate, Ohio, sister, Marge Smith, of Toledo, Ohio,    brothers, Don Sager of Holgate, Ohio,   Bill Sager of Holgate, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her son, Rick Schwiebert, and a sister, June Ann Sager.

Visitation will be held 2-8 PM on Wednesday, at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Thursday at 11:00 am, with Father Randy Gesige officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Defiance Hospice Inpatient Center.
