Helen Ann Phillips, 70, of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the CHP DEfiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

She was born on November 20, 1943 in Defiance to Robert & Mildred (Ankney) Hill.  On January 27, 1962 she married Leroy D. Phillips.

Helen was a member of the Defiance Church of the Nazarene.  She had cooked for the Tip Top Restaurant for 10 years and Bud's Restaurant for 30 years.  Helen loved to camp and cook..

She is survived by her husband, Leroy, sons, Todd (Tracy) Phillips of Hicksville, Scott (Kathy) Phillips of Holgate,  Rick (Sarah) Phillips of Defiance,  special daughter, Shelly (Tim) Gares of Defiance, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, brother, Mike (Jenny) Hill of Defiance, sisters, Mary (Louie) Belcher of Paulding, Alice (George) Arbeiter of Cobden, IL, Lillian & Lisa Hill, both of Bucyrus, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m.Monday, September 29, 2014,at Schaffer Funeral Home,  Defiance.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Donald Leonard officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens.
