Helen A. (Britz) Ordway's Obituary
Helen A. Ordway, 86, of Defiance, passed away on October 5, 2013 at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born on November 4, 1926 to Sebastian and Concetta (Codispoti) Britz in Marion, OH. In 1944 she married Rolland Ordway. Helen and Roland lived in Continental, Ohio, and he preceded her in death in 1961.
Helen was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, a former member of the Defiance Moose. Helen volunteered at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center and worked at the Cheif Supermarket in the Deli for 20 years.
Helen is survived by her son, Ben (Sue) Ordway of Defiance, OH, daughters, Connie Sabins of Marysville, OH, Sharon Kroeckel of Myrtle Beach, SC, Diana (Kevin) Decker of Defiance, OH, 6 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, sisters, Mary Fazara & Josephine Arthur both of Marion, OH.
She was preceded in death by father, Sebastian Britz, mother, Concetta Britz, husband, Rolland Ordway, son, Robert Ordway, 4 Brothers, and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 2-8 PM, with a vigil service at 7:00 pm, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Schaffer Funeral Home with Jeff Mayer officiating.
Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, Ohio.
