Helen L. Black, 79 , of Ney, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at her home in Ney, Ohio.

She was born on September 4, 1937 to Lyle and Margaret (Miller) Craig in Ada, Ohio. On December 7, 1955 she married Rudolph J. Black,Sr., who preceded her in death in 2013. Helen worked at General Motors in Defiance for 25 years. She was a member of First Assembly of God, and UAW Local #211.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Kim (Jimmy) Harrill, Pamela Black,  Denise (Scott Snyder) Yonge, Lori (Rick) Baldwin,  Michelle (Randy) Rockholt, and Julie (Dan Diamond) Black, sons, Rudolph Black, Jr., Cory (Tammy) Black,  and Joshua (Jessica Perez) Black, 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rudolph J. Black, Sr., one grandson, five great-grandchildren, and sister, Colleen Cook.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow services at Poplar Ridge Cemetery.
