Harold William Yagel, 73, of Defiance, passed away on  Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the CHP Defiance Area In-patient Hospice Center.

He was born on June 12, 1940 to Hubert and Laverne (Bowman) Yagel  in Bryan, OH. On January 15, 1967 he married Sharon "Sherry" (Jones) Yagel.

Harold was a member of Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren.  He was a 1958 graduate of North Central High School.   Harold worked at  ITT Automotive (Fulton Tubing).   He loved trains and wood working and was a huge fan of John Wayne aka "The Duke", but Harold enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his beloved grandsons.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, "Sherry", son, Robert Yagel of Houston, TX, son, Sgt Major Douglas (Erino) Yagel of Okinawa, Japan, brother, Marvin (Donna Jean) Yagel of Napoleon, OH, sister, Caroline Rohrbaugh of Defiance, OH, grandsons, Christopher & John of Japan, favorite aunt, Jackie Johnson of Mesa, AZ, and loyal dog, Pepper.

He was preceded in death by his parents, uncle, Robert Bowman, brother-in-law, Chauncy Rohrbaughand his granddog, Shaddy.

Per Harold's request, there will be no visitation.  A private memorial service will be held with Rev. Benjamin Polzin officiating.
