Guy E. Reed, age 66 of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on December 24, 1958 to the late Dana and Ellen (Baldwin) Reed. Guy was a 1977 graduate of Ayersville High School and worked for Johns Manville and Campbell's Soup Company. He was a member of Defiance Eagles #372, VFW #3360, and AMVETS Post 1991. Guy took great pride in building homes and had an extraordinary work ethic. He enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, being outdoors, and he treasured his time spent with his family. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his family and many good friends. Guy is survived by his sons, Jason (Amelia) Reed of Napoleon and Josh Reed of Texas, his brothers, Kenneth (Michele) Reed of Defiance, and Danny Reed of Latty, and sisters Kathy Jewell of Defiance, Darla (Mark) Boroff of Bryan, and Brittney (Adam) Custer of Defiance. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A reception of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Defiance Eagles beginning at 12:30 pm.  A Celebration of Guy's life will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Perry Porter officiating. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations be sent to Schaffer Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
