Gregory P. Engelhaupt, age 71 of Defiance, passed away early Friday morning, April 5, 2019 at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. He was born on April 11, 1947 to the late Robert and Rosemarie (Reiser) Engelhaupt in Defiance. Greg proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In 1972 he was in a bad automobile accident, which left him unable to walk. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Defiance, VFW #3360, DAV #36, Defiance Eagles #372, and Napoleon AmVets #1313. Greg is survived by his brother, Michael Engelhaupt of Atlanta, GA, and his niece, Audrey Engelhaupt. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Riverside Cemetery, with military rites accorded by VFW #3360. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
