Grace W. Steffel Grace W. Steffel, 93, of Defiance, passed away Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011 at Defiance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Defiance, on November 8, 1917. She was the daughter of the late John P. and Lucy B. (Sweets) Coressel. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a 1935 graduate of Napoleon High School. Grace married Louis M. Steffel Feb. 8, 1945 and he died Feb. 17, 1991. Grace and her husband owned and operated several businesses including a truck broker, two Gulf gas stations, and the Sports'man Inn. Grace was also a Realtor. Surviving are son: Kenneth Steffel of Defiance Daughters: Nancy Burroughs of Washington, Pa., and Susan Steffel of Maumee Sister: Sister Marie Lucy O.P. of Adrian, Mich. 3 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Louis, brother: Maynard Coressel, sisters: Florence Westrick, S. Germain Coressel and Vivian Weidenhamer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Defiance, Oh. at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25th, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Visitation is Thursday 2-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home and Friday 1-2 at St. Michael's Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Michael's Church Cemetery. Suggested memorials are to the Wounded Warriors Regiment. Condolences may be left at defiancefuneralhome.com.
