Glennis D. Stantz, 94, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance.
He was born on May 4, 1921 to Dorca and Pearl (Koch) Stantz in Defiance. On February 7, 1946 he married Yvonne (Chase) Stantz, who proceeded him in death on May 4, 2002.
Glennis was in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was a farmer for many years. Glennis worked at Dinner Bell Foods in Defiance, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Open Bible Church in Sherwood, Ohio Glennis and Yvonne owned and operated "The Loft" Antique Shop in Defiance. He loved to garden and tinker on lawn mowers and pretty much everything. Glennis enjoyed taking Yvonne on drives to find places for her to paint. He loved to talk and make new friends, he never knew a stranger.
Glennis will be greatly missed by his family; daughters Regina (Gilbert) Montez of Sherwood, Karen Figy of Melbourne, Florida, and Gwen (Paul) Reuben of Turlock, California, son Gary (Theresa) Stantz of Hamilton Lake, Indiana, 11 Grandchildren, and 20 Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Dorca Stantz, wife, Yvonne Stantz, and brother, Howard Stantz.
