Glen W Vogel, 84, of Defiance, passed away on  Sunday, January 26, 2014 Mercy Hospital of Defiance.

He was born on October 11, 1929 to Henry and  Irene (Dirr) Vogel in Henry County, OH.  On May 16, 1953 he married Mary (Meyer) Vogel.

Glen was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Defiance.  He was past treasurer of the Sunday School and a member of its Brotherhood.  He was a trustee and served on the usher corp.    He worked at GM Powertrain 44 1/2 years retiring in 1993.  Glen enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.

Glen is survived by his loving wife, Mary, sons, Gregory (Cheryl) Vogel, Edon, Michael (Linda) Vogel, Montpelier, daughter, Jane (Dan) Tuttle of Ayersville, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters, Dorothy Lang of Defiance, and Rosella (Lee) Conkey of Hicksville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Evelyn Bosiak, brothers, Wilbur, George, Roger & Victor Vogel.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. David Brobston officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens.

The family suggest memorials be made to  St. Paul's Endowment Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
