Gladys R. Wahl, 93, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015 at The Kingsbury House in Defiance. She was born on July 5, 1922 to Earl and Blanche (Meyers) Newton in Defiance. In June, 1950 she married Richard Wahl, who proceeded her in death. Gladys was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Defiance, and Johns Manville Retirees. She worked at The State Bank and Toledo Edison. Gladys loved to read, and care for her dogs. Gladys is survived by her brother, George (Phyllis) Newton of Defiance, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Blanche Newton, and husband, Richard Wahl. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home. with Rev. David Brobston, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
