Gerald A. Janney Gerald A. Janney, age 86, of Oakwood, Oh , passed away at 9:47 AM, Saturday, July 5th, 2008 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Oh. Gerald was born in Gaston, Indiana on December 5, 1921, he was the son of the late Floyd and Edna (Thomas) Janney He served in the U.S. Navy in WW II,serving in Puerto Rico as a Navy pharmacist mate. He was the husband of Helen (Cox) Janney. They were married Aug. 15, 1942 and she survives. He retired from Borg Warner Gear of Muncie, Ind., where he had worked for for 30 years. He was also the owner and operator of Janney's Plumbing and Heating and a farmer. He was a graduate of Gaston High School Besides his wife surviving are Daughter(s): Sheila (Robert) Brownfield of Defiance, Oh, Ann (Steven) Nichols of Defiance, Oh Son: Gary (Julie) Janney of Oakwood,Oh. Sister: Enid Kemp of Gaston, Indiana He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Memorial Services will be held in August.
