Gerald L. Grant Gerald Lee Grant, 65, Defiance,OH, passed away a peaceful death, Sunday, July 19, 2009 in his home. He was born the son of Lester and Gladys (Varner) Grant on January 24, 1944 in Defiance. Gerald was a graduate of Continental High School in 1962. He married Karen Minch on August 8, 1964 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa. Gerald is survived by his devoted wife, Karen, and his daughters, Michele (Doug) Lantow and Kristen (Michael) Ruggiero, both of Middleburg Heights, OH. He is survived by six grandchildren: Sydney and Lauren Lantow and Nicholas, Andrew, Adriana and Domenic Ruggiero. He is also survived by a brother, Gary Grant of Continental; Sister-in-laws Helen Grant of Florida and Margaret Grant of Continental. Gerald was preceded in death by brothers Lester Jr. and Kenneth Grant. Gerald was President of Arps Hardware, Defiance. He took great pride in providing exceptional customer service to every patron who entered Arps. Gerald was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Defiance Elks, and the Eagles. Memorials should be made to Defiance Catholic School. Visitation will be at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, Defiance on Wednesday 2-5 and 7-9 with a rosary at 8:45 P:M. Funeral will be held at 11:00 A:M on Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
