Gary A Saylor, 58, of Defiance, passed away on  Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.

He was born on June 30, 1956 to Jay and Janice (Gustin) Saylor in Defiance.   On July 27, 2013 he married Tamara (Osborn) Saylor.

Gary was a truck driver for the Ney Oil Company 42 years.  He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, his dogs: Tucker, Tatum, Breezee & Vinnie whom he considered his children.  His grandson had a special place in his heart and could always make him smile.  Gary was a regular at Bud's Restaurant and devoted himself to the care of his parents..

Gary is survived by his wife, Tamara, father, Jay of Sherwood, step-daughter, Ashley (Fiance' Lance Newman) Imber of Defiance, step-son, Joshua (Abby Rademaker) Imber of St. Charles, MI, brothers, Burnell (Sinda) Saylor of Sherwood, Larry (Rhonda) Saylor of Garrett, IN. and a grandson, Jaxson Newman of Defiance.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Saylor.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, 12-8 pm Friday, July 18, 2014  & one hour prior to the services Saturday, July 19, 2014. at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor David Brobston officiating.

The family suggest memorials be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to the Defiance Animal Shelter.
