Obituary

Gary P. Maddio, 68, of Defiance, passed away Thursday morning, May 16, 2013 at the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born in Red Lodge, Montana on September 11, 1944. He was the son of the late Pio and Billie (Dunn) Maddio. Gary was a member of the Second Baptist Church. He graduated from Helena High School in Montana and attended college in England. He was retired and was the property manager for 15 years at Island Parkway Manor for senior citizens and disabled citizens. He supported the police with their charity work with children and also supported the special Olympics . He was a big Detroit Tigers fan. He had a great love for the Lord, his church, wife, children and family. He married SuzAnne M. Sykes on Aug. 5, 1995. Gary will be greatly missed by his wife SuzAnne, a son Jerry A. (Angie) Sills of Stock Bridge, Michigan. daughter Merinda S. Sills of Ypsilanti, Michigan, brother Jack (Judy) Maddio of St. Paul, Minnesota, sister in law Jerry Maddio of Helena, Montana, 6 grandchildren and 11 great grand children. He was preceded in death by a brother Vincent E. Maddio, sisters Anna Short and Mary Ann Maddio, who died in infancy and his parents. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 20, at 2nd Baptist Church 1945 E. Second St. with Rev. Craig Begley officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, at 2nd Baptist Church from 2-8 and an hour before services Monday. Suggested memorials are to the D.A.V. The Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Condolence may be shared with the family at www.defiancefuneralhome.com.
