Gary J. Lewis, 60, of Defiance, passed away on Friday,  March 8, 2019 at the CHP Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center, Defiance, OH. He was born on December 10, 1958 to John and Laura (Schomburg) Lewis in Defiance, OH.

Gary worked as a Laborer for Defiance Metal Products, and was a member of The Fellowship Club in Defiance for 27 years.  He enjoyed family times especially with his grandchildren. Gary is survived by his children, Gary (Necole) Lewis, II of Paulding, OH, Benjamin (Jessie) Lewis of Grover Hill, OH, Candi Gebers of Defiance, OH, Alexis (James Florence) Stutzman of Paulding, OH, and Devon Gebers of Defiance, OH, 10 Grandchildren, Kirsten, Kassidy, Sarah, and Miranda Lewis, Nicholas and Kaylee Gebers, Kristen, Andrew, and Jase Frederick, and Ayden Florence, brothers, Scott  Lewis of Defiance, OH, and Mike Lewis of Toledo, OH, a sister, Linda (Doug) Welly of Bryan, OH, his mother and stepfather, Laura (Floyd) Brown of Defiance, OH, and his life companion / wife, Karen Gebers of Defiance, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, John  Lewis, a grandson, Keegan Lewis, and a sister, Laurie Martishus. A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at The Fellowship Club, 901 Deatrick St., Defiance OH.
