Gabriel Chairez Castanon, age 58, of Defiance, passed away on  December 14, 2022 at his residence. He was born on March 24, 1964 to Hector and Alfonsina Chairez Castanon in Gomez Palacio, DGO, Mexico . He attained his Bachelors degree in Engineering and worked for 21 years. Gabriel was a member of Iglesia Bautista Nueva Vida church. He was very dedicated to his job. Gabriel was a Godly man who loved to read his bible. He enjoyed his coffee, working on his car, soccer and was always very active. Gabriel enjoyed studying math and never stopped learning. He lived a simple life. He loved his children and grandchildren and always made everyone laugh. He will be missed by many family members and friends. Gabriel is survived by his loving daughters, Diana (Nate Martinez) Chairez and Monica Chairez both of Defiance, Claudia Chairez of California and America Chairez also of Defiance, grandchildren, Chloe, Mason, Ruben and Morae. Brothers, Hector, Eli, Alejandro and Hector Eduardo Chairez Castanon, sisters, Mayela Yazmin, Blanca Estrella, Georgina, Monica Alfonsina and Diana  Chairez Castanon. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Eduardo Chairez Castanon and his beloved mother-in-law Enriqueta Martinez. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 1:00 pm- 2:00pm with the funeral service following immediately at 2:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance with Pastor Arnulfo Deanda officiating.
