Frederick P. Myers Frederick P. 'Fred' Myers, 78, of Defiance, Oh , passed away Friday, January 1st, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, OH. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on August 15, 1937, he was the son of the late Alfred Robert and Burnice Irene (Bleeks) Myers. He was the husband of Judith A. Myers whom he married March 28, 1958. Fred graduated from Defiance High School in 1955. He ran track in high school and set a long standing record for the mile. Fred graduated with a Bachelor's of Education degree from Bowling Green University. He was a teacher at Mason Public Schools for 30 years in Erie, Michigan retiring in 1986. Fred coached track and cross country at Mason. He moved back to his hometown of Defiance in 2000. He will be missed by his wife Judith Myers of Holland, Michigan, daughter Julie Ann Myers of Lansing, Michigan, son Jeffrey Scott Myers of Durango, Colorado, and sister Linda Lou Myers of Middlepoint, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents There will be a Celebration of Life luncheon on Wednesday, January 6 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. for family and friends at Ryno's Downtown Bar and Grill 510 W. 2nd St. in Defiance. At the family's request there will be no visitation.
